Remove Pigmented and Vascular Lesions with IPL Photofacials in New Orleans!

Visible pigmented and vascular lesions can be embarrassing and difficult to treat using conventional methods, but at Metairie Plastic Surgeons, our IPL photofacials can safely and effectively remove these imperfections from the skin without surgery or downtime.

Located in Metairie and serving the greater New Orleans area in Louisiana, Metairie Plastic Surgeons is led by Dr. Trey Sands. Contact us today to schedule a consultation and discover the benefits of IPL photofacials for non-surgical skin rejuvenation.

What are IPL Photofacials?

Advancements in skincare technology now make it possible to clear pigmented and vascular lesions from the skin without surgical intervention. IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light, targets these skin imperfections at the source without damaging the surface or connective tissues.

At Metairie Plastic Surgeons, we utilize the advanced Starlux 500 IPL system from Palomar®, which is considered by many medical experts to be the gold standard for vascular lesions and features the highest level of vessel clearance on the market.

How are IPL Photofacials Performed?

This is a well-tolerated procedure performed in our Metairie office. Using the IPL handpiece, we will emit specific pulses of light-based energy into the skin, which bypass the surface and target lesions at the source. The light energy is absorbed by the pigments of the vascular lesions and converted to heat, coagulating the vessels and causing them to shut permanently.

The blood is redirected to healthier vessels, and the targeted vessels are removed by the body. This results in skin clearance without injuring or removing the skin surface, making it an ideal treatment option for many men and women.

What Results Can I Expect?

Some post-treatment flushing or pinkness may develop on treated areas, which typically fades within the first week. Patients are able to return to normal activities afterward but should take precautions in the sun and protect the skin as it heals. Lesions gradually fade from the skin over a matter of one or two weeks, resulting in a clearer, healthier appearance.

Am I a Good Candidate for IPL Photofacials?

Men and women who have visible skin imperfections such as pigmented and vascular lesions and who are seeking non-surgical clearance of these conditions may be ideal candidates for IPL photofacials. The best way to find out if IPL photofacials are right for you is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Sands and our medical team.

Call Metairie Plastic Surgeons today to schedule your consultation and begin your journey to clear, healthy skin with IPL photofacials.
